GIFLITE GIFLITE is a DOS-based command-line utility you can use to compress GIF files. To use it, just enter 'GIFLITE' and a GIF filename on the command line. The program then creates a new compressed GIF file with the same name and saves your original with a .bak extension. Compressed GIF files require much less storage space, yet they function just like the full-size GIF file. The compressed GIF doesn't need to be uncompressed for viewing -- just use you normal viewer.
