DUNCE Think of all the steps you go through in Windows 95 to connect to the Internet. Sure, it's less complicated than Windows 3.1 or NT, but it's no holiday. First, you have to open your connection profile, click Connect and wait for the connection -- if there's a busy signal or a connection problem, you may have to do this repeatedly. Once you finally have a connection you have to startup your applications. This process of Internet connection becomes an accepted routine, but it can become annoying if you have to do it several times a day, especially on a slower PC. In an ideal world, it could all happen with a single click of the mouse and that's the aim of Dunce. Dunce does have some limitations though. It only stores settings for one Dial-Up Networking profile and has a limit of 4 programs to startup when you get connected Dunce and DunceGold are compatible with Windows95 only. These products do not support Windows NT 4.0 nor Windows 3.1. Because these products use Windows95 Dial-Up Networking, they are incompatible with America Online software that does not use a TCP\IP connection. Bypasses the Connect To Dialog. Redials even when Windows 95 internal redial won't work. Reconnects you in the event of a disconnect. Minimizes the Connected To Dialog. Expands the Details on the Connected To Dialog. Enters your password for you in the Connect To Dialog. Runs and Closes up to Four programs. Responds to one User Defined Prompt. Dials into the Internet when you start a program that needs you to be connected. Bypasses Microsoft Network prompts. Allows you to schedule connections to run at set times. Has a convenient tray icon to show you that it is running and allow you to access its features.
